NuCypher in Detail Review
NuCypher is a decentralized cryptographic services provider for private blockchains and enterprises. NuCypher provides end-to-end security for customer data, an authorization system, easy data distribution across organizations, and secure data storage in the cloud.
The main feature of NuCypher is the key management system (KMS), which ensures the security of dApp developer data on the blockchain. Encryption is applied to each saved file. This is due to the proxy's cryptographic encryption with interoperable security as a feature of KMS.
NuCypher has its own utility and control token NU. The main purpose of tokens is to stimulate user activity on the network. Essentially, NU is the key to KMS.
Moreover, NuCypher is an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency that works on the Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism, so there are all the benefits of this mechanism such as staking, voting, etc. NU stakers receive passive income for your staking efforts. The NU stake helps run the NuCypher node system.
In addition, NU is an indispensable part of NuCypher decentralized autonomous organizations - DAOs. The DAO controls the accuracy and order of all blockchain processes.
The NuCypher Project (NU)
NuCypher was actually launched in 2015. NuCypher was co-founded by Mikhail Egorov and McLane Wilkison. The project participated in the 2016 summer class of the American startup accelerator Y Combinator. Although the Whitepaper was published, the first real launch took place only in 2017. The testnet platform was launched a year later, in 2018. In 2018, major infrastructure providers such as Bison Trails, Figment, InfStones and Staked.us joined the event. As a matter of fact, the public (meaning official) NuCypher testnet was conducted in 2019. The main network was launched in October 2020.
Mikhail Egorov was a physicist and researcher at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology before becoming NuCypher's CTO.
McLane Wilkison is the project's CEO and chief software engineer. He previously worked in finance as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
Benefits of NuCypher (NU)
- KMS privacy level. NuCypher was originally created to serve other blockchains to provide them with exceptional security, which is very much in demand in the crypto industry. It uses encryption technologies such as Proxy Re-Encryption (PRE), Threshold Signatures (TSS) and Distributed Key Generation (DKG), which combine different features of security types.
- Decentralized Applications.< /b> The wide range of different dApps customizations and features help significantly expand the capabilities of the enterprises in which developers implement NuCypher. Dapps allow developers to more efficiently manipulate stored data.
- Dedicated team. The NuCypher team is very active on social media and always strives to stay connected with its community.
Disadvantages of NuCypher (NU)
- Lack of development directions. The project already has enough partnerships with various enterprises, but almost all of them cover a couple of business areas such as IT and technology, while the creators have always strived for a bigger picture and saw their project as a global multidisciplinary network.
