Marlin (POND) cryptocurrency
POND is an ERC utility token -20 decentralized open source project Marlin, along with another token, MPOND. The token plays a very important role in the Marlin environment: the prospect of receiving token rewards incentivizes users to act for the benefit of the network. POND holders can use the token to create their own proposals and support others to make resource allocation decisions on the network, as well as use the tokens to run a validation node. Network users earn POND for relaying, for placing MPOND tokens on nodes. Staking your tokens on the node you create serves as collateral or insurance: if you fulfill your role as a node manager, you get your tokens back with a reward, but if you fail, you pay a price - the tokens you staked.
History of the Marlin Project
Behind Marlin are leaders Pratyaksh Sharma and Siddhartha Dutta, as well as a team of consultants that includes Ethan Fast, Hari Balakrishnan, and Prabhakar Reddy, among others. The Marlin protocol was created to solve one of the biggest problems blockchains face: communication speed. The longer the chain, the slower and more cumbersome the communication process between nodes. Marlin's solution predicts faster communications with the ability to transfer larger volumes of data. Being a layer 0 project, the protocol benefits from compatibility with all blockchains, regardless of the type of consensus mechanism they use. What's even better is that the Marlin protocol can accelerate any platform that uses the network: decentralized exchanges and applications, social and gaming networks, video and audio streaming platforms, and many other applications. To ensure the security of the protocol, Marlin has implemented two measures: the creation of a worldwide independent network of auditors that will continually review the protocol and measure its performance, and a compensation fund for Marlin users who suffer losses due to network performance not meeting the SLA.
Advantages of Marlin (POND)
- Adaptability. The genius of Marlin’s idea lies in its adaptability: this is a level 0 project, which means that it can be overlaid on any blockchain and therefore used by any project that wants to increase the speed of its network. Many blockchains could potentially integrate Marlin into their network.
- Impressive Partners. Crypto fans and blockchain enthusiasts are excited about the value of this protocol and its future prospects: Marlin boasts several impressive partnerships with big names like Murmur, Holochain, Matic Network and others.
Disadvantages of Marlin (POND)
- Quiet voice in a large crowd. Marlin is a strong project, driven by an innovative idea and a dedicated team at its core. The only obstacle to wider recognition seems to be their reluctant social media presence. Marlin has accounts on several platforms, including Discord, Facebook, Telegram and Twitter, but users note that the team needs to be more present in the media space and promote the importance of its Tier 0 projects to attract a wider audience. After all, what is often heard is not the wisest opinion, but the loudest.
