Decentraland is a virtual reality platform , created on Ethereum. In the virtual world, people can buy land, develop it, share it, and monetize it. Decentraland is the first digital platform to be entirely shared with its users. History of the Decentraland project
Despite the fact that the project and its technologies seem very new and unique, the developers began their journey back in 2015. Back then, the project world was a simple pixel grid that distributed pixels between users thanks to Proof-of-Work technology.
The Decentraland team is led by Ari Meilich (project manager) and Esteban Ordano (technical manager). Ordano previously worked as a software engineer at BitPay and founded Smart Contract Solutions. Both founders also worked on the creation of Streamium and Bitcore.
