This is a first-level PoS blockchain, using the innovative Move language, which was separately created by the Meta Diem developers. Aptos announced the launch of its mainnet in October 2022.
The Aptos team strives to implement Web3 and expand the capabilities of the decentralized application ecosystem to solve current user problems. A blockchain based on Proof-of-Stake can achieve a theoretical transaction throughput of more than 150 thousand transactions per second through parallel implementation.
Aptos' main products are Wallet, Explorer and Names. Each of them is used in the ecosystem running on the APT token. APT is used to pay both transaction and network fees.
Overview of the Aptos Project (APT)
Aptos was created by Mo Sheikh and Avery Ching, former Meta employees. Mo Sheikh, CEO of Aptos, is a professional with extensive experience in the IT field. Avery Ching is the CTO of Aptos. He was one of the lead software engineers at Meta.
Moe and Avery both worked on the Diem (Libra) project until it was cancelled, and then they founded Aptos Labs. The rest of the team consists of experienced developers, designers, researchers and strategists.
